"Syrian Army liberates important Deir Ezzor district in Euphrates River Valley"

[I was glad to see that this report from Syria's Al-Masdar News -- AMN -- was posted today at Google News "Top Stories." Better late than never but the tragedy is that Google did not feature AMN reports years ago on the Syrian war. If they'd done so, Americans would've gotten a better picture of what's actually going on in Syria.

Before turning to the first AMN report shown here, a quote from the third one: "As in Mosul, most of the remaining ISIS fighters in central Syria who did not flee prior to their full encirclement are natives to the region and have been ordered to say behind by their mostly foreign commanders." sigh.]

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack along the western bank of the Euphrates River this morning, targeting the strategic Al-Baghiliyah District that is situated just north of the provincial capital.

Led by detachments from the Republican Guard and Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the entire Al-Jazeera University campus after a fierce battle with the so-called Islamic State (ISIL).

With Al-Jazeera University under their control, the Syrian Army turned their attention to the Islamic State’s last positions inside the Al-Baghiliyah District.

Within hours of launching their assault, the Syrian Arab Army had taken full control of the Al-Baghiliyah District, forcing the remaining Islamic State terrorists to flee the area in order to avoid being overrun.

Al-Baghiliyah was one of the Islamic State’s main targets in their 2015 offensive that saw their forces capture the Ayyash Storage area and much of the district.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has scored another major advance in the Deir Ezzor Governorate today, liberating the strategic Thardeh Mountains that overlook the military airport from its western perimeter.

Led by the elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army launched their final assault on the Thardeh Mountains this morning, striking the Islamic State’s last positions at the southwestern peak.

Unable to hold their positions, the Islamic State was forced to withdraw completely from the Thardeh Mountains, leaving the Syrian Army in full control for the first time since October 2016.

In addition to liberating the Thardeh Mountains, the Syrian Army also took full control of the Kroum Hill in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

However, the Syrian Army would not stop there; they would launch a powerful attack east of the Thardeh Mountains this afternoon.

As a result of this attack, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the Nishan Gas Station, along with the nearby water pumping station.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – Both ISIS sources and Al-Masdar News military sources can confirm that Islamic State fighters currently besieged by pro-government forces in central Syria will fight until the death.

According to Al-Masdar News journalist Ibrahim Joudeh, attempts by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to negotiate an evacuation of ISIS militants besieged in the region failed several days ago.

Furthermore, ISIS sources have also confirmed via a very recently released statement that no surrender or evacuation of the terrorist group’s forces in central Syria will take place.

The statement calls on Islamic State militants in the region to fight until the death, just like they did during the battle against Iraqi security forces in Mosul.

As in Mosul, most of the remaining ISIS fighters in central Syria who did not flee prior to their full encirclement are natives to the region and have been ordered to say behind by their mostly foreign commanders.
